Hello and welcome to my blog! 
 If you are looking at this page, you've probably never met me and are wondering who I am.  I'm Kimberly K, a photographer, a wife, a mother, a daughter, and a full-time 911 dispatcher.....that is until I open my own studio ;) .  I lead a very busy life but wouldn't change it for the world.  In my work I am a perfectionist and strive to always improve on EVERYTHING that I do. 

How did I get into photography? 
Well, I wasn't born with a camera in my hand and although I've always enjoyed taking family snap shots I didn't pursue photography until my adult years.  My 2 children are my biggest passions and purpose for living but photography comes second.  Photography isn't a job to me.  I spend precious hours away on photo sessions, editing, researching and learning new techniques, participating in online classes, marketing, and I enjoy EVERY single minute of it.  I did say precious hours because the time I spend pursuing my passion is time away from my family. 

What do you specialize in?
Currently, I do not specialize in a specific portrait type.  Yes, there are wedding photographers, newborn photographers, high school senior photographers, natural light photographers, and the list goes on and on.  I enjoy photographing everything and haven't found one particular area that I love more than another.  I photograph maternity, live births, newborns, children, high school seniors, families, engagements, weddings, boudoir/glamour and any other life event or function that has a need for a photographer!

Where are portrait sessions held?
Portrait sessions are held in my home studio (Crown Point, IN) or an outdoor location of your choice (within 25 miles of Crown Point, IN).  I do travel for sessions, please contact me for information on my travel fees.  Please note that I do have pets and if you or anyone attending a portait session has a pet allergy other location arrangements can be made.

What type of equiptment do you have?
I have 2 Nikon DSLR cameras. Yes, I am a Nikon owner and very proud to be one!  I have varous lenses, lighting equiptment, reflectors, and props.
